Team Play Information

All clubs submitting an applications must be identified as the "club of record" and must maintain at least one 18-hole regulation length (5,000 yards or more) golf course. Each team is expected to field a team and compete as scheduled in accordance with established SCGA Team Play Rules. Withdrawal at any time after entry deadline may result in ineligibility for team play until the second year following the year of withdrawal.

During the regular season and playoff matches, the home team is required to host green fees for the visiting team (16 players plus two alternates during the regular season and eight players plus two alternates during the playoffs). Clubs within a group may agree to other arrangements, provided all clubs within the group are in agreement. Carts, food and beverages should be made available to the visiting team for purchase.

Clubs are limited to entering only one team in Thursday play and one team in Saturday play unless the club maintains two 18-hole courses (a club may enter two teams on each day if two 18-hole regulation length courses are maintained). If a club is entering two teams, a separate application must be submitted for each team.

All teams must have a Certified Handicap Chair representing the club. Certification can be obtained by completing an SCGA Handicap Certification class, offered monthly. Additionally, all clubs must be in compliance with the USGA License Agreement. Without a Certified Handicap Chair and updated license, your club will not be eligible to participate in the 2013 Team Play season. To ensure that your club meets these criteria, you may call the SCGA Office.
