The 2013 California Scratch League Championship was hosted at Half Moon Bay Golf Links Monday. The Big Canyon CC and The Links at RiverLakes Ranch teams from the SCGA Scratch League and Turlock CC and Granite Bay CC from the Northern California Scratch League advanced to the Championship. These scratch leagues were created to build camaraderie and competition between low handicap players and golf club professionals at SCGA and NCGA Type 1 golf clubs. Teams were composed of seven players (one club professional and six amateurs) and the format is a unique point game in which each team member plays stroke play, accumulating points within their pairing group based on score for each hole. All play is without Handicaps except for seeding the pairing order from low current handicap index to high index.

16-point game: The possible combinations for points scored on each hole are: 7-5-3-1, 7-5-2-2, 7-3-3-3, 7-4-4-1, 6-6-2-2, 6-6-3-1, 5-5-5-1, 4-4-4-4. These points are calculated after each hole and tallied for a point total at the end of the round. The point winner within each pairing group at the end of the round receives 7 points for the team, 2nd place point total within the pairing group receives 5 points for the team, 3rd place point total within the pairing group receives 3 points for the team, and 4th place point total within the pairing group receives 1 point for the team.
