Concordia University in Irvine is offering a four-credit, graduate level course this summer that will focus on the history of the game, rules of golf, course management, coaching strategies, team management and more.

Part of the Masters in Coaching and Athletic Administration (MCAA) degree, Concordia University’s Advanced Theories and Strategies for Coaching Golf course is designed for teachers, coaches, PGA Apprentice Program members and the general public who are looking to learn more about the game and coaching golf.

The course will be taught by Bill Cunerty, who has coached the Saddleback College golf team to seven state titles, and is a former SCGA president and current rules committee member. He was a two-sport (football and baseball) athlete at USC who began his coaching career at North High School in Torrance. Cunerty brings extensive knowledge of the game of golf to the classroom for instruction and to the practice facility for hands-on experience.

The course will take place daily during the week of July 8 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the University and the Rancho San Joaquin Golf Driving Range in Irvine. For more information or to register, click here.
