This trip next year to south Ireland with PerryGolf is loaded with classics including Old Head, Ballybunion Old, Waterville, Tralee plus Arnold Palmer’s Ryder Cup Course at the K-Club and world top 50 Portmarnock. After two nights in the heart of Dublin at the Westin, we’ll travel south to Old Head then on to Killarney for four nights at the exceptional Aghadoe Heights Hotel.

THE WESTIN DUBLIN

The Westin Dublin lies in the heart of Dublin City, steps from Trinity College, the fashionable shops of Grafton St and the lively Temple Bar area. Each of the 163 bedrooms feature Westin's much acclaimed heavenly bed and room facilities include hi-speed internet access through your TV. The Exchange Restaurant displays a fine sense of elegance where the Chef will use the freshest of Irish Ingredients to create a blend of local and international dishes. ACTONS HOTEL

Actons of Kinsale is located in the heart of Kinsale overlooking the magnificent Kinsale Harbour and Kinsale yacht club. Fully refurbished and reopened in March 2013, it now boasts 74 tastefully furnished en suite bedrooms, many enjoying panoramic harbour views. All rooms free Wi-Fi, flat screen TV's, and large fully sprung mattress beds with luxury duck and down duvets. All rooms are ensuite with large waterfall showers for a fresh start to the day. Actons Leisure Club completes the hotel with swimming pool, spa pool, sauna, steam room, gym and treatment room all complimentary for guest use.

June 23

On arrival at the Dublin Airport you will be met by PerryGolf personnel who will assist you with your luggage and transfer to your transportation.

Your preferred arrival & departure airport options are dependent on your personal preferences. The closest airport to your first hotel/golf course is listed first. Some airports have direct transatlantic flights from US cities while others only offer service with connections through European hub cities. Our air department is available to assist you with your air travel options.

June 24

Make your way to Portmarnock. 35 mins

Today play at historic Portmarnock (tbc), consistently ranked as one of the top five courses in Ireland. Most of the trouble is visible and the fairways and greens are generally flatter than other links courses in Ireland. However, the course is well bunkered and is open to the winds coming off the Irish Sea and Dublin Bay. Please note a very limited supply of golf carts are available for hire. Sightseeing: Non-Golfers will today explore Dublin, Ireland's capital, which has fast become one of Europe's most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities. Amongst the many attractions are St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Trinity College, to view the Book of Kells in the College Library. There is a wealth of architectural detail with the medieval core of the city surrounded by elegant Georgian squares.

Make your way to K Club - Palmer Ryder Cup Course. 45 mins

Today play the K Club - Palmer Ryder Cup Course (tbc). This beautiful parkland course was designed by Arnold Palmer and most recently successfully hosted the 2006 Ryder Cup. The course covers an area of mature woodland to the west of Dublin City to which fourteen lakes have been added. The course has grown in stature to provide a very stern test of your golfing ability. Sightseeing: Non-Golfers will today pay a visit to the Guinness Storehouse, a fermentation plant at St. James's Gate Brewery which has been transformed into a place where you can experience one of the world's best-known brands in a totally unexpected way. It is the Home, Heart & Soul of Guinness. At the Guinness Storehouse you'll discover all there is to know about the world-famous beer. It's a dramatic story that begins over 250 years ago and ends in Gravity, the sky bar, with a complimentary pint of Guinness and an astonishing view of Dublin City.

Make your way to Old Head. 1 hour 10 mins

Today play at Old Head (tbc). The course was opened for play in 1997, and its success story has gone from strength to strength. It is now one of the most talked-about courses in the world. The Old Head is a remarkably dramatic piece of Ireland, protruding over two miles into the Atlantic Ocean. Nine holes play along the cliff tops, and all eighteen holes provide stunning ocean views. Sightseeing: Non-Golfers will today visit Blarney Castle to the north of Cork. No visit to Ireland would be complete without the opportunity to “Kiss the Blarney Stone”. The gift of eloquent speech is said to be bestowed on all those who kiss the Stone. The adjacent Blarney Woollen Mills allows the visitor to watch the weaving process and make purchases.

Make your way to Ballybunion - Old Course. 1 hour 10 mins

Today play Ballybunion - Old Course (tbc), Ireland's most famous course and consistently rated amongst the world's finest. Perched on a sandy cliff top, it makes its way through dunes and valleys with dramatic changes in elevation. The greens are often perched on mounds or carefully sheltered between sand dunes.

Sightseeing: Non-Golfers will today have time to enjoy the town of Killarney, and nearby Ross Castle and Muckross House. The town of Killarney itself is set amidst the most beautiful lake and mountain scenery. Ross Castle sits on the banks of Lough Leane on a majestic site looking out on to the lake and Inisfallen Island. Muckross House is situated close to the shores of Muckross Lake, amidst the beautiful scenery of Killarney National Park. Muckross House was built for Henry Arthur Herbert and his wife. William Burn, the well-known Scottish architect, was the designer. Building commenced in 1839 and was completed in 1843. Today the principal rooms are furnished in period style and portray the elegant lifestyle of the 19th century landowning class.

Make your way to Tralee. 1 hour

Play Tralee (tbc), the first Arnold Palmer designed course in Europe. Opened in 1984, this traditional links course has matured into a fine test of golf. The course works into the dunes and brings the exposed coastline into play, offering wonderful views from Barrow out to Fenit Island and the Atlantic.

Sightseeing: Non-Golfers will today explore the Dingle Peninsula. The Dingle Peninsula is widely regarded as having some of the most dramatic scenery in Ireland. Within its small compass it has many interesting antiquities, historic sites, a large number of ancient stone monuments and a variety of mountain scenery. Take the opportunity to tour the Dingle Distillery, an Irish whiskey distillery located in a converted sawmill in Milltown on the outskirts of Dingle. The Dingle Distillery welcomes visitors to enjoy a tour of the facility where the entire production process for all their products are explained - gin, vodka and whiskey. The distillery tour will give you an introduction into Irish whiskey, and into the Dingle Distillery itself.

Make your way to Waterville. 1 hour 30 mins

Play today at Waterville (tbc), located in the southwest corner of Ireland on the famous scenic route, the ''Ring of Kerry''. A spectacular location and an outstanding test of golf, Waterville has developed into one of the most admired and respected courses in Ireland. Following recent course design improvements by Tom Fazio, Waterville has now entered into the top 100 courses in the world. Please note a very limited supply of golf carts are available for hire. This evening all SCGA Members will enjoy a welcome cocktail party followed by dinner.

Sightseeing: Non-Golfers will today travel with the golfers along the Iveragh Peninsula, a dramatically scenic route, commonly known as the Ring of Kerry. Watch how the landscape changes from the “Peat Bogs” to dramatic cliff tops view over the Atlantic Ocean. Waterville Golf Links is located about half way along the route, allowing Non-Golfers to take a detour to visit Valentia Island, one of Ireland's most westerly points offering outstanding coastal views.
