Nikki Gatch Joins Southern California Golf Association’s Board of Directors

STUDIO CITY, CALIF. (FEB. 3, 2015) – Nikki Gatch, player development regional manager at PGA of America for Southern California, has joined the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) Board of Directors. Gatch’s election was confirmed at the Association’s January board meeting.

Gatch, 42, is a golf industry veteran who spent nearly a decade working for the Southern California Chapter of the PGA before taking on her current role with the PGA of America. With the PGA of America, Gatch is heavily involved in Golf 2.0, an initiative dedicated to growing the number of golfers, rounds and revenue over the next decade. She is very involved with the SCGA, and currently serves on the SCGA Growth Committee, SCGA Governmental Affairs Committee and the SCGA Youth on Course Program Committee. Gatch is the first woman and first PGA Professional elected to the SCGA Board.

“Nikki’s extensive background in the golf industry and familiarity with the SCGA made her an ideal candidate to join our board,” said Kevin Heaney, SCGA executive director. “The SCGA is entering an important new era devoted to continuing the evolution of services to our membership, expanding outreach into the golf community and putting significant resources towards growing membership. Nikki’s experience, industry relationships and support will be critical to achieving these goals.”

Gatch began her working career in golf in 1995 as a golf professional, before transitioning to the administrative side of the game with the PGA of Southern California. She was assistant executive director from 2007-2012, and prior positions included junior golf director and foundation director. In 2012, she was recognized by the Women’s Southern California Golf Association as the Golf Professional of the Year, and that same year was inducted into the SCPGA Junior Golf Hall of Fame.

Gatch graduated with a degree in Journalism and Broadcasting from Oklahoma State University and was a member of the OSU Women’s Golf Team.
