Field announced for ANA Junior Inspiration

The LPGA’s most iconic major championship, The ANA Inspiration, continued its tradition of inspiring ladies golf by naming the field of elite junior golfers who will be given the opportunity of a lifetime, a chance to earn a spot in golf’s first major of 2016, taking place from March 31 - April 3. Thirty-six girls will tee it up in the newly named ANA Junior Inspiration on Monday, March 28. The lucky winner of the ANA Junior Inspiration will win the right to tee off in the first round of the 2016 ANA Inspiration alongside the greatest players in the world.
For the last four years the historic major championship offered the last place in the tournament starting field to the winner of an 18-hole competition featuring top junior golfers from California. However as part of its efforts to grow the future of women’s golf throughout the country and take the game to new heights, title sponsor ANA, working alongside the SCGA, have opened up the junior field to now include elite players from across North America. The players competing were chosen by a selection committee that includes representation from the ANA Inspiration, as well as from SCGA Junior, which provides tournament support for the event.

ABOUT THE ANA JUNIOR INSPIRATION
The ANA Junior Inspiration is a junior event run by SCGA Junior and the ANA that allows aspiring amateurs across the United States to earn the final playing spot in the ANA Inspiration, the LPGA's first Major. This year, the event will feature nearly 40 of the top amateurs from Southern and Northern California, as well as 10 amateurs invited from each of ANA's gateway markets in North America: Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Vancouver, Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., Houston, and Honolulu.The event is played on Monday, March 28 on the Arnold Palmer Course at Mission Hills CC.
