SCGA Women's Amateur Net Championship
Nov. 4-5, 2019 at Tustin Ranch GC
The SCGA Women's Net Amateur Championship is open to female SCGA members of all skill levels. Players compete over 36 holes of individual net stroke play and the field is divided into flights consisting of different handicap levels.
McKinley Named Inaugural Champion
With a staggering final round score, 1-under 71, Esther McKinley found herself at a three stroke lead to win the Inaugural Women's Amateur Net Championship at Tustin Ranch GC.
The Montecito Club member won the SCGA Senior Women's Amateur Net in 2018, so the winners circle is definitely familiar territory for McKinley.
To start out the week, she found a few birdies on the front nine and tied up the day with a strong eagle on No. 18. Her first round of 75 put her in a good place on the leaderboard, needing only a few strokes to place herself on top. She proceeded to light up Tustin Ranch on the final day, with three eagles on the back nine.
"It was a delightful event, I enjoyed it very much," McKinley said. "It was a challenging course with a lot of forced carries but it was a wonderful group of women to play with."
Rounding out top five are Bonnie Roohk (Meadowlark GC), Soran Lim (Pelican Hill GC), Antoinette Cajigal (Casta Del Sol GC) and Tina Schmid (Chameleon GC).
