In the second playing of the Stableford Team Net Championship, the duo of William Erickson and Fidel Rodriguez of Catalina GC held on to earn a two-point victory at Westin Mission Hills. Playing on the Pete Dye and Gary Player courses, the winning team opened Round 1 with an impressive score of 86, before turning in a 68 in Round 2, good enough for the win.

For the winning team the victory was sweet revenge, after finishing in second place in the inaugural playing of the Championship last year at Indian Wells GR, where the duo fell just one point shy of the win.

Finishing in second place was Bob Parent (The GC at Glen Ivy) and Joe Strong (Canyon Lake GC), who opened with a 68 before fighting back in Round 2 with an 88, the best round of the tournament. Rounding out the Top 3 was the team of Bob Mink (The CC at Soboba Springs) and Tony Smith (San Bernardino Mens GC).

Rather than counting the total number of strokes taken, as in stroke play, Stableford involves scoring points based on the number of strokes taken at each hole in respect to par. Both players' scores are combined on each hole for the total team score.
