The Seniors Golf Association of Southern California was honored last week at the SCGA’s Annual Meeting with the SCGA Foundation President's Award for its outstanding dedication and commitment to supporting junior golf. Kathy Gustafson and Gene Pepper (pictured) of the SGASC were on hand to accept the award, which was given out for the second straight year.
Since 1983, the SGCSC has held an annual pledge drive benefitting the SCGA Foundation, one that encourages all its members to get involved and give back. Total donations have exceeded $90,000, and current annual support is approximately $5,000 per year. More than 100 SGASC members were involved in last year’s drive.
“We thank the SGASC for its continued support of our programs,” said SCGA Foundation Executive Director Kevin Gigax. “Thousands of Southland juniors have benefitted from the funds raised by their club, and we are honored that they chose us as their beneficiary.”
