Is it ok to ask if a putt is good?  I play with someone who always wants to “pick up” in a match from 6 feet in.

I was being a bit sarcastic - but I am referring to when your opponent essentially gives themselves the putt - whether they actually hole it or not - by performing a non tradition putting stroke (ie raking) the ball toward the hole and either making or missing and then picking it up and taking the score as if it was conceded -

MBright - We should ask you what you mean by “rakes it in.” Was the ball holed (and by who), or was it picked up?

So what happens when you don’t concede and your opponent ‘rakes’ it in before you have time to concede or otherwise?

If that was for par or better, I wouldn’t concede that putt.  Hahaha.

In a case like this, the best thing to do would be to pick up the ball and move on.
