Raising the Bar
Mission Viejo Country Club has gone the extra mile to make the 24th SCGA Mid-Amateur Championship one of the best amateur golf tournaments in Southern California. From an impressive Sunday night pre-tournament dinner to the attention given to the players by the staff, the members of Mission Viejo have a lot to be proud of. Much appreciation is given to all the members and staff of Mission Viejo for supporting this event. MORE
"Mission Impossible"

Founded in 1966, Mission Viejo Country Club in south Orange County was one of a series of great designs from legendary golf course architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr., a list that included Pauma Valley CC, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, Valencia CC and what is now known as The SCGA Golf Course.

Originally dubbed “Mission Impossible” when it first opened, in large part due to the quintessential Trent Jones bunkers and undulating greens, Mission Viejo CC remains a stern challenge today, tipping out at 6,966 yards.  When John Pate shot even-par 72 to win the 2005 SCGA Tournament of Club Champions scratch flight at MVCC, he was the only player to match par and finished two shots ahead of a field that included reigning California Amateur champion Don DuBois.
