Membership
The Southern California Golf Association is one of the nation's oldest and largest regional golf associations with more than
174,000 individuals who belong to the SCGA through more than 1,200 clubs - private, public and affiliate. More than 40,000 people belong through public golf courses and another 50,000 belong to affiliate clubs (often called golf clubs without real estate).
Joining the SCGA is as easy as joining any of our more than 1,200 clubs. In the SCGA membership section you will find invaluable information about the specific benefits and services associated with our different forms of membership. If you're a person looking to join one of our existing clubs then you can locate the clubs nearest you, whether it be a golf course facility or one of our clubs without real estate (called affiliate clubs). Or, if you would prefer to start your own club, we have the necessary information to get you started.
Individuals may become members of the SCGA only by joining an SCGA member or affiliate club. We administer the USGA Handicap System which requires all members to have a Handicap Chair to administer peer review. Golfers may not join the SCGA or receive indexes on an individual basis.
