How did you start playing golf?
I first started playing golf at Pro Kids Golf, when I had the chance to go to the course with my PE class at Fay Elementary last year. I started taking the classes and did not like it at first, but then the lessons became fun.
What has your experience with golf been so far?
I like the social part of being with friends and challenging each other for a round. We usually play for a Twix bar! I think golf is challenging for anyone, including me.
Why did you decide to become a member of Youth on Course and where have you played using your membership?
The bag tags were really cool and I wanted to know about them since the other kids had them. My parents are busy, so I tend to go to Pro Kids the most but I have also played with Youth on Course at Sycuan Resort, Mission Trails, Stadium Golf Center, and Balboa 9.
How can YOC help your game?
It can help me be a better golfer because of the opportunity to challenge myself and get better because I can play all the courses that partner with the SCGA Foundation.
What is your quote to live by?
Ernie Wright (founder of Pro Kids) has a great quote: “Golf is the Hook, Education is the payoff.” I really believe that is true. I go to Pro Kids and do my homework there. I think golf is what makes people come to Pro Kids and it motivates them to do homework and be in school.
