Heaney Promoted To
New Key Position
Kevin Heaney, an 18-year veteran who has headed two SCGA
departments, is the new assistant executive director. Mark

The Mission Viejo-based Gauchos further enhanced their
community college golf resume by capturing a seventh Southern
California championship. Hancock's Josh Warthen barely missed
sweeping the individual crowns, losing by a stroke in the state

Pines Triumphs
Daniel Im of La Mirada won the CIF-SCGA championship by three
strokes and barely missed equaling the tournament record. Torrey
Pines High School returned to the top of the team heap. More.

Nagle Nails It
Fresh from the ranks of junior golf, Patrick Nagle prevails in
an all-Northern California, all teenage final match at the
California Amateur Championship. Joe Dudley wins the senior
crown as Southerners are left with only a senior team title and
the stroke play medalist (Roy Moon) during a week on the
Monterey Peninsula. More.
