Back On His Game
Retired San Diego attorney Steve Hakes has been putting his game back in shape in recent months. A two-stroke victory in the SCGA Tournament of Club Champions highlighted his progress. Mark Hiromoto and Joel Johnson and Martin Nealey (as co-champions) won the two net flights.

Loaded For Bear

Eddie Heinen, the California Amateur champion, and Clarke Rheney hooked up in Texas a while back, then decided to partner in the SCGA Four-ball. The results were big-time impressive.

Off the (Depth) Chart
Some "lineup changes" went a long way toward providing the Northern California Golf Association with its first victory in the Seaver Cup competition, the biennial rivalry with the SCGA at Ojai Valley Inn.

Marina High School sophomore Jennifer Osborn prevailed in a three-way playoff with another soph and a freshman at the CIF-WSCGA Girls High
School championship. Peninsula High knocked off two-time defending champion Torrey Pines in the team competition.
