THE OFFICIAL JOURNAL OF THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA GOLF ASSOCIATION
Award-winning FORE Magazine is a bimonthly, four-color publication mailed to
the home of each SCGA member as part of their membership. In addition to its
six regular issues, FORE publishes travel supplements throughout the year
covering such areas as Hawaii, Arizona and the Coachella Valley. In
conjunction with the Southern California Section of the PGA, the SCGA also
publishes the annual Southern California Directory of Golf -- Southern
California's most complete golf reference book -- which is also mailed to SCGA
members as part of their annual membership fee.

'C' Ya Later:
Bob Clark and Ed Cuff are veterans of top level competitive amateur golf, so when they lost their lead at the midway point of the second round of the SCGA Four-ball Championship at the SCPGA Golf Club, it was no time to cross them off.
Fourteen Years Later:
John Pate captured a SCGA tournament title for the third straight year, this one his second Tournament of Club Champions win (last time: 1987). Mike Berecochea, Ralph Sanchez and Ed McBratney prevailed in handicap flights at three Coachella Valley clubs.
Erin Go Golf:
A mix of the familiar and the fresh is in store for an Emerald Isle visitor. And the Irish people are as invigorating as the golf.
Moving Up:
Allison Martin gave the Central Section its first individual champion in almost 30 years of four-section high school play. The Centennial (Bakersfield) junior won the CIF-WSCGA crown after consecutive top 10 finishes the previous two years. Unbeaten Torrey Pines repeated as team champ.
The Name Says It All:
Country Club of the Desert unveils the first phase of its ambitious offering in La Quinta: 18 holes by Pete Dye and another nine by Ryder Cupper Clive Clark. There's a lot more to come.
