  • F.A.Q: Posting of Scores

This section covers questions regarding score posting and index calculation.

    9. When should a round be posted as a Tournament score (T)? - Top

In the SCGA Handicap Manual a tournament round is defined as "a score made in a competition organized and conducted by a committee in charge of the competition. The competition must identify a winner(s) based on a stipulated round(s) and should be played under the Rules of Golf."

The SCGA recommends that only events significant in the clubs traditions, schedules, formats and membership be posted as tournament rounds. Events such as the Club Championship, President's Cup, Member Guests, etc. could be posted as a T-Score. On average, each club would have approximately 8 tournaments per year. Members usually play in outside tournaments as well as home events, so each player’s score file would comprise of approximately 12 tournaments per year. These suggested numbers are merely a suggestion. It is ultimately at the clubs discretion as to the number of scores posted as tournament rounds. Tournament Rounds shall be announced in advance and shall be identified by the letter "T" when posted. 9 Hole scores shall not be designated as T-Scores.
