  • F.A.Q: Posting of Scores

This section covers questions regarding score posting and index calculation.

    3. What does the "C" designation mean in a player's 18-hole scoring file mean? - Top

The "C" designation stands for combined. It is used to combine 9-hole scores. Two 9-hole scores are combined and placed into the 18-hole history as a "c" score. This is done because all golf courses have individual 9-hole course ratings and slopes. This allows 9-hole scores from various locations to be combined. As an example if a player played 9 holes from the forward tees today and then played 9 holes tomorrow from the back tees those two 9-hole scores would appear in the 18-hole scoring history. The score would then have a "c" designation and have the later date as the date played. - Updated: August 29, 2005
