The SCGA encourages member clubs to upgrade their handicap computer systems to Windows XP to help eliminate some of the “crashing” issues as well as the illegal operation error messages. When the E/2 system was originally developed Windows 98 was the standard operating systems for IBM compatible computers. With the development of Windows XP it has provided a more reliable and consistent platform in which to run our program. There is a $100 charge for a club to upgrade their system. We would come out to your club and handle the installation of Windows XP. The clubs that have chosen to upgrade have not seen the same error messages, or have not run into the same problems they experienced when running the program on Windows 98. If your computer is older than 3 years old we strongly recommend budgeting to replace it. - Updated: August 10, 2005
