  • F.A.Q: Certified Handicap Chairmen

This section covers questions regarding the use of the Handicap Chairmens website.

    1. One of my members is returning to play from an injury, is there any adjustment allowed to make the player competitive? - Top

Yes. Increases shall not be granted arbitrarily because players are temporarily off their games, or have discontinued play. However, exceptions may be made for temporary disability upon authorization from the club's Handicap Committee.

Reasons for changing a Handicap Index include an injury to the player. The score file then needs to be audited each month to see if an override is still warranted. The player should continue to post their scores as they play so that the Handicap Chairman may see the player's progress. - Updated: September 1, 2005
