I have played at Sycuan Golf Resort since the mid 1990’s and I have seen it evolve. Usually the course conditions are good to great as they over-seed the fairways for the winter, so you don’t have those thin lies in the fairway. With Poa greens, they are generally smooth and quick in the morning, but tend to get bumpy in the afternoons. I love the options with the 3 courses. Willow Glen is my favorite as it is a bit more open off of the tee so you don’t have to be as accurate. Even though Oak Glen is rated easier, I find it more difficult as you have to keep the ball in the fairway. The back nine on Oak Glen is the best 9 out there. If I want to work on my short game or don’t have enough time to play one of the championship courses, the Pine Glen course is perfect. Don’t miss a green as it is tough to get up and down. The Pro Shop is great. They have a great selection of the latest trends for both men and women (their women’s section is the largest I have seen). Overall it is not the greatest course I have ever played, but it is a joy to play and I can expect to have a good time when I play.
