As most of you all ready know, SCGA is going to the GHIN system for recording scores as of January 1, 2010. There will be a short transition period between 12/22/2009 and 1/4/2010 in which all electronic score posting will stop. That means we will be unable to post scores on the course computers or from your home computer during that time. There will be the old green sheets out during that time or you can hold on to your score cards until the system is back on line and record your scores then. Ray Pierson would like you to hold your cards and report them yourself when the time comes, but you are welcome to post the green sheet if you want to get it over with. You are still required to post your rounds played during that time, but the method is up to you. During this transition, make sure your playing buddies are aware of the changes. You can get more information concerning the GHIN system by going to www.scga.org and click on Fore magazine. You will be able to get the internet version of the magazine with articles concerning the changes.

Congratulations goes to Charlie Griswold for his 2nd straight Club Championship. He shot a 1 over par 145 to retain the Championship. Question will be, will he make 3 in 2010. We've got a year to wonder. |

The Board of Officers and Directors voted to change the tee assignments for our monthly tournaments so all who play will have a good time. Starting January of 2010, the tee assignment you play will be according to your index and preference. If your index is 18.0 to 26.9, you will have the choice to play either from the Orange Tees or the Avocado Tees in tournaments. If you are a 27.0 or above, you have the choice to play from the Orange Tees, Avocado Tees, or the Lemon Tees. Of course your handicap will be determined by the tee you play. This is an effort to make the events more enjoyable to all players and will also help speed up play. Again, it's the players choice.
