| | 2010 SDAGA Board | Leadership Required |
| San Diego As we approach the end of the year for SDAGA we must begin the process of selecting a new Board of Directors. Many of the current people will be continuing but there will be openings. We need to have a Board in place by 1-1-2010. All members are eligible to serve and are encouraged to do so. The commitment is about one hour a month and includes lunch. SDAGA currently has 80+ members. Our group is strong and viable but we do need interested people to keep us that way. New ideas and members are always welcome. Our Scholarship Program provided $4500 to three graduating Seniors this year, we will go back to Palm Springs next year and the NAGA event this year is at Pinehurst. If you’d like to help lead our group, please contact Bob Harris at bugmanlj@aol.com ASAP. |

| Q: In stroke play, a player's ball lies in a water hazard. Before playing his ball, he takes several practice swings, each time touching the ground and causing leaves to move in the hazard. He also removes several strands of tall grass with his hand, improving the area of his backswing. What is the ruling? A: There is a total penalty of four strokes. Explanation Decision 13-4/28 |
| | Tournament Results | Down In The Valley |
| Mission Valley What a great day for golf! Thank you Mike Davies for doing such an outstanding job as our Tournament Chairman and Key Consulting Services and Warehouse Solutions for your sponsorships. Turn out was a little low, but those who came enjoyed themselves, that’s for sure. The winners were Low Gross: Tom Klauda (75), Low Net: Jim Zuffoletto (67), 1st Flt: Bob Harris (72), 2nd Flt: Dick Blank (70) 3rd Flt: Bob Salt (70) and because this turned out to be a members only event, there was no Guest Flight winner. Closest to the pins were Tom Klauda, Don Ludwig and David Matson. There was no player who landed within the NAGA Circle, therefor we will carry over to our next event, which is Morgan Run. Make sure to enter early and bring a friend...or 3. |

| | Handicap Chairman/SCGA Delegate Says... | By Steve Gershwind |
| The Southern California Golf Association will change handicap vendors as of Jan. 1, 2010. The current IDC system will be replaced by the GHIN (Golf Handicap Information Network) system currently used by the USGA. In addition to other benefits of use, the new system will make it possible to post scores from courses outside of the SCGA region. To enable the system changeover to take place, you will not be able to post any scores on golf course or home computers between Dec. 22 and Jan. 4. Most courses will have sheets available for hand posting, which the courses will then put into the computer system after Jan. 4. If posting sheets are not available at the course, keep a personal record of dates, scores, and tees played until they can be posted after Jan. 4. Further details of the changeover will be forthcoming over the next three months. For more information, go to the SCGA website, www.scga.org. COMING NEXT MONTH: SDAGA MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL INFORMATION FOR 2010. |
