Introducing our children to golf presents a couple of challenges that can be the beginning of the end of our child’s love for the game of golf.
Get it right and they will enjoy a long and enjoyable life within golf and for some it may even open the door to a career in golf. Get it wrong and introduce your kids to the strictest of environments within a high-end club and you may never see your child pick up a golf club again.
South California has some wonderful golf courses at which you can introduce your kids to the game and I am going to mention a few that really fit the bill.
LOMAS SANTA FE EXECUTIVE COURSE
Located in Solana Beach Lomas Santa Fe has recognized the need to focus on attracting new golfers to the game and as a result of the acceptance of a USGA drive the course is perfect to take your kids and get them hooked on golf. The course is regarded as one of the best short courses in America and with the choice of playing the regulation size holes or the large 15inch holes which are installed in to the greens to attract beginners and juniors to the game. Another great “gimmick” that Lomas has tapped into is the regular Glow Ball golf events which are played in the evenings, another fun way for your kids to enjoy the game of golf.
St. Mark Golf Club
A relatively straightforward course for beginners, the atmosphere around the club is very junior friendly and the course hosts regular junior events to encourage the juniors to take part and integrate in club life.
The course is flat and easily walked, and with the partner course of St Mark Executive juniors will have the opportunity to flourish.

A relaxed, laid back environment awaits at this affordable and delightful little course. associate with executive courses. Sometimes-severe bunkering and heavily sloping greens make scoring a challenging even though the course is played entirely with irons.
