Meet Michael Zweig

Marketing Manager

Michael first came to the SCGA in August 2013, where he worked as the development intern for SCGA Junior. As marketing manager, Michael helps coordinate and manage many of the SCGA’s member engagement programs, including partnerships and booth presences at Southland PGA TOUR events, Golf Retailers and Member Appreciation outings with various professional sports teams. He also helps oversee collateral production for multiple SCGA departments and helps manage the Association's expanding advertising and sponsorship programs. Prior to joining SCGA Junior, Michael worked a six-month internship with the Los Angeles Kings, where he developed a community ticket program to further fan engagement via phone and email correspondence. A graduate of Cal State Long Beach’s Sport Management Program, Michael earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science and History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and utilized his education and skills during internships with Congressman Howard L. Berman, both in Van Nuys and Washington, D.C.

Why golf? What inspired you to work in golf?

"I have played golf since I was in High School and have a great amount of enthusiasm for the sport. I have always been interested in the business aspects of golf, such as marketing and advertising, and my interest in helping to promote the game of golf inspired me to work in this field."

What is your dream golf foursome?

"Jack Nicklaus, Abraham Lincoln, Eddie Murphy, and myself. Sports, history and movies (specifically comedies) are three passions of mine."
