Meet MacKenzie Peyton

Coordinator, Championships & Golf Operations

MacKenzie is responsible for numerous SCGA-administered qualifiers and One-Day Series tournaments and will be heavily involved in various championships throughout the Southland. She supports in the department’s coordination with the Communications & Marketing team, as well as its volunteer Rules Official program.

Previously, MacKenzie gained valuable experience at Golf House Kentucky operating junior tournaments and championships. She was responsible for tournament set-up, starting and scoring of players and managing of player of the year rankings. Most recently, MacKenzie worked in the Athletic Development department at her alma mater, the University of South Alabama, where she was in charge of events and hospitality in addition to restricted giving for softball, volleyball and women’s basketball. While a student, she also worked for JagNation TV, the university’s in-house television network, where she set up broadcast cameras for live sporting events and operated the replay systems for ESPN+ streams.

Originally from New Castle, Ky., MacKenzie earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications, and a master’s degree in Sport Management from the University of South Alabama.

If you didn’t need to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

I would be at a pool or the beach!

What do you look forward to the most as a staff member of the SCGA?

I look most forward to meeting new people and getting to see all of the amazing golf courses that Southern California has to offer.
