Meet Earl Gillings

Manager, Member Services

Earl began working for golf associations in 1997, and has done a little bit of everything during that time. He is currently a part of the SCGA's Member Services Department, where he answers questions regarding Handicaps and Memberships.

Earl is a Southern California native and has lived in the South Bay all of his life. Weekends are usually spent helping at the monthly tournaments for the Alondra Park Men’s Club or Recreation Park Men’s Club, two of the clubs that he is a member of. Outside of work, Earl has volunteered at various junior events such as the Los Angeles County Junior Golf Championships, the Len Kennett Junior Championship and the Knabe Cup.

What has been your favorite memory from working at a Golf Association?

"Being the Standard Bearer for the finals at the 1998 USGA Amateur Public Links Championship held at Torrey Pines (South) and being given a ball that was used in the event by the champion, Trevor Immelman."

What is your dream golf foursome?

"Peter Jacobson, Rocco Mediate & Grace Park would be the three I would like to be in a foursome with. All of them have been good for the game and are always willing to talk to the public at their respective tour stops."
