Meet Linda Kueny

Coordinator, Rules & Competitions

Linda, who began her work with the association in 2008, transitioned to Rules & Competitions in 2012. Since that time, she has handled the daily duties associated with tournament administration, assisting tournament participants, preparing for events and Rules of Golf workshops. Linda has also been a critical ambassador of the SCGA while in the field working various events. She'll serve as the staff member in charge of numerous One-Day Series events, while also taking on a significant role in the administration of both the SCGA Scratch League and the department’s Committeemen Program.

“I love interacting with our members about everything golf,” says Linda. "Golf has become an obsession that has created my bucket list of trying to play every course our SCGA Directory."

Why Golf?

"I work in golf because I love to golf and I get satisfaction from helping people understand what is out there for them. It is my way to give back to the game; encouraging people to participate in events and tournaments, helping them take advantage of all the benefits of belonging to a club. The recreational golfer wants opportunities in golf and the SCGA provide just that through our supporting programs. I am lucky to be able to point them in the direction of scga.org to share the many benefits we have for our members. The SCGA organization is more than a regional resource, we are a family.

I’m committed to providing two-way communication while fielding member’s calls on a wide range of topics, such as membership, handicap questions and even how to donate golf equipment. I assist the caller and they get great customer service. It’s a win win!"

What is your favorite SCGA memory?

"Last year my family and friends supported me playing in the SCGA Foundation's Golf Marathon, providing $3750 to our Foundation. I volunteered for many years for youth team sports programs, but playing along three young women beginning their college careers and sharing their thoughts was truly a memorable experience. I encourage more golfers to give back to the game through the Foundation's activities."
