Communications Overview
The SCGA Communications Department is responsible for all communications activities of the SCGA. From writing, producing and publishing FORE Magazine to updating the SCGA web site, the communications department has a direct impact on each individual member. The department also handles all media relations activities for the SCGA.
The department publishes The Southern California Directory of Golf jointly with the Southern California Section of the PGA. This is a comprehensive listing of all golf courses in Southern California, including play policies, green fees, contact information and directions to the courses. The directory also includes valuable information about the SCGA and SCPGA, as well as a complete chronology of SCGA tournaments.
The department oversees the design and content of the SCGA website, www.scga.org. Here, members can find out the latest tournament information, view special offers from the Partners Program, and verify Handicap Indexes.
The communications staff wants to know about the golfing achievements of SCGA members, such as Holes in One, Sweet Shots. Perhaps you know of a member who has a unique occupation or a storied history with the game of golf. This information is often published in FORE Magazine.
The department is also a great source of information about the SCGA’s history, such as the date a club joined the association, who designed a particular golf course, who holds the course record etc...
For questions please contact the Communications Department.
