SCGA Casual Play Days will give members a fun, non-competitive opportunity to enjoy a selection of the Southland’s member courses that they might not have the opportunity to play otherwise.
“This is a great program that will allow our members to come out alone and meet new people or with a group of golf buddies to have a great day of golf,” says Ray Tippet, SCGA assistant executive director. “This is no-pressure golf; we don’t want it to be a competitive tournament feeling. This is a chance, however, for our members to take advantage of an SCGA championship-quality event, whether they are a scratch golfer or still establishing a handicap.”
The first Casual Play Day will be held at Indian Palms Country Club and Resort in Indio on May 19. The price is $50, which includes green fee, cart, range access, and tee prize. For those traveling to the Indio area, Indian Palms will offer a discounted room rate at its hotel for the night of May 19, as well as a $44 morning golf rate for Sunday, May 20. Make a weekend of it!
There will be a total of six sites throughout the year, including events at Woods Valley Golf Club in Valley Center, Primm Valley Golf Club in Primm, and Oak Quarry Golf Club in Riverside. |
