As is traditional, the SCGA will be played on the home club of the SCGA president -- in this case, Ed Holmes of Victoria Club. Founded in 1903 (one of just seven courses in Southern California more than 100 years old), Victoria Club was formed by members of several Riverside clubs, including the Riverside Polo & Golf Club, which was one of five founding SCGA clubs in 1899.

In the early 1920s, noted golf course architect Max Behr redesigned the course into what it is today by revamping the 18 holes originally designed by Walter Fovarque. The course is typical of that time in that there are some quirky characteristics. Hole No. 15 was recognized by George Thomas, Jr. in his 1927 book, Golf Course Architecture in America, as being of superior design.

Victoria Club will measure approximately 6,500 yards, par 71 for the championship.

One oddity of the design is that the course has four 5-pars in the last five holes; one of those holes (No. 17) will be played as a 4-par for the SCGA Amateur. Many of the holes are affected by Tequesquite Creek, which bisects the course.
