Del Monte Golf Course
The oldest course west of the Mississippi

Del Monte Golf Course is one of the most historical courses in California and oldest on the west side of the United States. (photo courtesy of Miller Brown)

Del Monte Golf Course opened its doors in 1897, and over the past 110 years, has earned itself the title of the oldest golf course in continuous operation west of the Mississippi River.

Designed by Charles Maud, instrumental in both building Southern California golf history and sitting as the first president of the Southern California Golf Association, the 6,375-yard, par-72 course still offers a true test of golf more than a century later.

Del Monte was also the orignial host course for the California Amateur Championship before it relocated to Pebble Beach Golf Links and is one of three host courses of the Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational.
