The Course: Cypress Ridge

Opened in 1999, Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande is a Peter Jacobsen Signature Course by Jacobsen Hardy Design. It's a scenic, challenging layout with views of the Pacific Ocean and the sand dunes of Pismo Beach and has hundreds of cypress trees throughout the property. The course has hosted a number of SCGA championships and qualifying events, including the 2008 SCGA Affiliate Club Team Championship.

The par-72 course plays 6,803 yards from the tips and has three other sets of tees ranging down to 5,087 yards. It was one of the first courses to establish a permanent combo set of tees, mixing specified blue and white tees to create a combo tee that measures 6,140 yards. The course requires strategy and finesse, particularly on tee and approach shots.

Cypress Ridge is a significant ecological environment. It was the 14th course to be registered as an Audubon International Signature Sanctuary Course, and throughout the course are native grasses, habitat enhancement and wildlife enforcement. The club also utilizes integrated pest management practices and is irrigated with reclaimed water from an onsite water treatment plant that also processes wastewater from homes in the adjacent community.
